Cultural Capital
We want our children to experience a wide range of experiences and we endeavour to do this in a range of ways: visits, experience days, celebrations and visitors.
Our understanding of ‘knowledge and cultural capital’ is derived from the following wording in the national curriculum:
‘It is the essential knowledge that pupils need to be educated citizens, introducing them to the best that has been thought and said and helping to engender an appreciation of human creativity and achievement.’
Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, some of these experiences were unable to take place. However, we have begun our visits again and are very much looking forward to many more.
Each phase within school works hard to provide opportunities for the children to have different experiences which broaden their horizons and support their personal development.
There are also a number of whole school events which are a joy to share in.
