Special Educational Needs & Disability (SEND)

Our SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) is Mr Fox

At Endsleigh Holy Child VC Academy, we are committed to ensuring that all children make as much progress in their learning and development as possible. Through a supportive culture of promoting, sharing and celebrating success, we recognise every individual’s God given talents. Our inclusive curriculum enables children to achieve their full and unique potential, whatever their needs and abilities.

We believe that children with SEN and their parents/carers should be at the heart of planning and decision making. We aim to provide opportunities for children with SEN and their parents/carers to play an active role in planning their provision in accordance with the SEND Code of Practice 2014.

Your Statutory Right to the Local Offer: Hull and East Riding
Under the Children and Families Act 2014 (Section 30) and the SEND Code of Practice (0–25 years), your Local Authority has a non-negotiable, statutory duty to publish a comprehensive Local Offer. This is the single, accessible source of consolidated information detailing the Education, Health, and Social Care provision they expect to be available for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) aged 0 to 25. Your knowledge of the relevant Local Offer is the essential first step in securing the legally mandated support and provision for your child.

Hull City Council Local Offer

For parents and carers within the Hull City Council area, the Local Offer provides detailed, context-specific information essential for navigating the SEND process. This includes the Authority’s expectations on how mainstream primary schools, such as ours, meet needs through SEN Support, particularly through the use of the Graduated Approach (Assess-Plan-Do-Review cycle). The Local Offer explicitly references the framework used to match increasingly specialist interventions to a child's needs , often utilising the Progressive Provision Levels (PPL) document, which outlines expected provision at different stages of need. We strongly advise reviewing this resource to understand the local pathways to provision and to support any potential application for an EHC Plan.

East Riding of Yorkshire Authority Local Offer

For parents and carers within the East Riding of Yorkshire Authority area, the Local Offer is your key resource for understanding local policies and procedures. It sets out clear, accessible information on all services, groups, and activities, fulfilling the Authority's duty to provide support across education, health, and care. Crucially for our school context, the East Riding Local Offer details the criteria for high needs funding and resource allocation, including the structure of Progressive Provision Levels (PPL) and the associated high needs top-up Funding Levels that underpin the specified provision within any resulting EHC Plan. Understanding these mechanisms is vital for effective parental advocacy.
